When can Your Housing Maastricht be reached?
It is possible to contact Your Housing at any time. We always respond as quickly as possible. The office of Your Housing Maastricht is open continuously from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 17:00.
When am I entitled to rent subsidy?

How do you register with the municipality?
If you are staying in Maastricht for a period longer than 4 months, you are obliged to register with the municipality at the address. In most cases, you can register online. When is garbage collected?
In Maastricht, residual waste is collected every other week, vegetable, fruit and food waste weekly and paper/cardboard monthly. Residual waste should be put outside in the red and white garbage bags. You can buy these at most supermarkets.
These residual bags are on the expensive side, which is why you can also use the free environmental platforms. Here you can bring plastic, cans, drinks cartons, glass, paper, cardboard, nappies and incontinence materials free of charge.

What is BSGW?
BSGW stands for tax cooperation between municipalities and water boards. You receive your municipal tax bill from them once a year. If you have any questions about this, we recommend you contact BSGW at https://bsgw.nl/nl/contact.

How do you apply for GWE?

Which insurances do we recommend?
1 Contents insurance
If a tenant has their own belongings in the property, it is advisable to insure them through contents insurance. This insures the belongings for fire, storm, water, or burglary damage. There are also All-Risk insurance policies that cover you if you or someone else in your household accidentally causes damage. Also, older household effects will depreciate. This will be taken into account when claims are paid. So, consider carefully whether the risk/(daily) value of the household effects is high enough to insure.

What is a diplomatic clause?
Sometimes a diplomatic clause is included in the lease, which means the following: A diplomatic clause officially refers to the article in the rental agreement that stipulates that a landlord temporarily rents out his own property in order to move back into it himself when it expires. Interested in a property

Renting the accommodation
Have you viewed the property, and do you decide to rent it? Then please send us a confirmation e-mail to info@yourhousing.nl. We will then send you a declaration of intent that you need to fill in and return with some documents such as a copy of your passport. We will respect privacy at all times.

When is the key transfer?
When the rental agreement has been signed + the first month's rent and deposit have been received, we can plan the key transfer. This always takes place on the first working day after the rent has started (In consultation, it can always be scheduled at another time). Before the key is handed over, the rental agreement must be signed and the first month's rent + deposit must be received.
During the key exchange, we will make a check-in report. We do this so that when you leave the accommodation, we can compare the condition of the accommodation. We have a system that does this in a structured way.

During the rental.
There is a problem in the accommodation
Do you notice a problem in the accommodation during the rental period? Then you should always contact the accommodation manager as soon as possible. The contact details of the caretaker can be found in article 9 of the rental agreement.

I want to terminate the rent of my accommodation
When you can terminate the rental of your property depends on the rental agreement. In most cases you have rental agreement of indefinite time with a minimum duration of 12 months. After this minimum period, the rent can be terminated monthly with 1- or 2-months’ notice.
This means that if you want to terminate the accommodation on, say, August 31st, your notice must be received by July 31st. The rent can only be terminated before the end of the month. So not August 15th but August 31st.

When will the deposit be refunded?
If there were no problems in the accommodation, the deposit is always refunded within 3 months. In practice, if there were no problems, this is faster.
Were there damages during the check-out?
Is damage found during the check-out for which the tenant is responsible? Then the landlord can deduct the repair costs from the deposit. Of course, you will always be informed of this.
